The vendor manager is responsible for building and maintaining our selection of relevant perks and benefits for employees across categories. This role requires an effective contributor and communicator, with strong business acumen, acute analytical skills, and the demonstrated ability to use creative thinking and innovation to solve complex problems. The successful candidate is a self-starter with a passion for marketplace and has superb business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations.

This role would be reporting directly to a senior leader, so ideal for driven candidates willing to learn from the best and are ready for a steep learning curve to advance in their careers. 

Key job responsibilities

  • Defines the vision and business strategy for the category including North Star metric(s) and KPIs for measuring results
  • Manages category P&L and develops plans that drive revenue and margin improvements for the business 
  • Develops vendor relationships inclusive of terms negotiations and growth focused initiatives
  • Drives broad adoption and provide an unparalleled customer experience
  • Devise clear frameworks for making day-to-day decisions
  • Lead execution of projects including building project plans
  • Drive commitments from internal teams including Marketing, Engineering, and Category Management
  • Dives deep into inputs and understands the downstream impact of changes to pricing, selection, and convenience for subcategories.

You’ll be tasked with taking our leading product and transforming it into a global SaaS offering.

As a Senior Product Manager you will lead one of our cross-functional development teams, responsible for your product area to deliver impactful change in line with the overall product strategy.

The success of our mission depends on your high expectations, your autonomy and your proactivity. Our product managers will contribute to building a team with the highest standards and best practise, learning about the trials and tribulations of building a globally scalable product.

You will be focused on the following areas:

  • Business: As a product-led organisation, having a clear and well thought through product that places the customer at the centre of our vision is critical. The product manager will be working with HR teams to improve customer experience with admin tools, in-product reporting and integrations, as well as improving operational efficiencies.
  • Customer Experience: Building product based global partnerships to serve relevant offers to our global users and exploring monetisation models on the back of these global partnerships. Building in-store audio and video content strategy and executing on them.

Day to day you will be:

  • Establishing relationships and working with customers to build and scale features to help the admin/HR experience
  • Leading the ideation, experience and technical development working with engineers, designers and other key stakeholders on features, ideas, MVPs and rapid ongoing iterations.
  • Execution and Prioritisation across multiple teams, along with company vision leading to product execution.
  • Maximise efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
  • Communicating with the wider business and external stakeholders at a detailed level before, during and after the product development process to manage expectations and ensure that requirements are clearly understood and meet business needs.
  • Look for opportunities for you and the team to develop skills and knowledge using internal and external sources.

Requirements

About You

You’ll be a self starter and eager to make a big impact on a growing business, driven and motivated by tackling the interesting product problems that arise when taking a product global. You’ll have experience working closely with technical teams in an entrepreneurial environment where you’ve been given a lot of accountability for your product focus. We’re looking for bold leaders who can think outside the box and in return, we’ll give you the scope to change the future of Betterspace.

Ideally you will have worked on taking the product from zero to one or one to ten, and some of that experience might look like:

  • Working with very technical teams on end to end delivery of a SaaS product
  • Experience working and integrating APIs, that is, someone who is comfortable with communicating and aligning with technical integration areas
  • Assisting with business cases and analytical insights for new initiatives; requires identifying and understanding key issues, quantitatively analysing these issues, and communicating key insights and results
  • Familiarity working with external vendors and partnership relationships
  • Established tried and tested stakeholder management processes

You should also have:

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Technical architecture understanding of web-scale business is a big plus.
  • Experience working with simple and intuitive user interfaces on web and mobile – ability to create examples through wireframes and mockups using various tools..
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.

The SDR team at Betterspace is the Engine Room of the go-to-market function. We’re an extremely driven and energetic bunch who work tirelessly to engage in meaningful conversations with businesses across the country to explore how we can improve their employee experience, creating new sales qualified prospects (SQPs) for our Account Executives to close.

We spur each other on to crush our targets, using creative and innovative ways to put smiles on the faces of HR decision makers nationwide as we consult with them to help solve their challenges.

Wellbeing has been on top of mind for most companies and therefore making our product more in demand within our customer base. As an ambitious SDR, you have the unrivalled potential to make a difference to people’s lives, all whilst earning uncapped commission.

Your day to day will involve:

  • Sourcing new leads based on our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
  • Generate interest in Betterspace through multiple channels – email, calls, LinkedIn, video
  • Booking and taking qualification calls with prospects to uncover their needs & qualify/disqualify as an opportunity
  • Communicate the Betterspace value proposition and overcome objections
  • Deliver great customer service to prospects throughout all aspects of the sales process – first impressions count!
  • Scheduling demos of Betterspace with qualified prospects for the AEs
  • Updating/maintaining a healthy pipeline of leads in the CRM & ensuring good data hygiene
  • Collaborating with the SDR team including sharing of best practises, peer to peer training and constant learning
  • Collaborate & communicate with AEs for smooth lead handover/conversion
